Carbide tipped (TCT) bandsaw blades perform excellently for abrasive masonry materials such as aerated concrete, yet many end‑users face premature tooth wear in daily dry cut operations. Multiple practical factors decide the actual working lifespan besides blade raw material quality.
Improper machine tension is one major cause. Too high tension brings extra fatigue to blade base steel; insufficient tension leads to blade wandering and uneven carbide tip chipping. Matching feed speed is equally critical. Over fast feeding overloads carbide teeth and triggers micro cracks, while overly slow cutting causes thermal burn on hard alloy tips under dry‑cut conditions.
To extend blade life, operators shall keep correct band tension, avoid forced feeding, and clear accumulated material dust timely. When processing variable pitch TCT blades for AAC blocks, machine condition check before each batch will greatly reduce unexpected damage. Jinzhi Steel offers technical consultation for global clients on blade installation and operation parameters.
