Hello, I'm Karen, Foreign Trade Specialist at Hangzhou Jinzhi Steel (JINBIRD). I share industry insights and product expertise on saw blades & steel solutions.

Hangzhou Jinzhi Steel Co., Ltd. shares practical industry insights on heat management for rigid PVC pipe threading and perforation operations, helping global processors reduce reject rates and extend carbide blade service life.

As a typical thermoplastic material, rigid PVC is highly sensitive to frictional heat generated during high speed machining. Once local cutting temperature exceeds its glass transition threshold, pipe edges will melt, plastic residue sticks firmly to carbide teeth, creating burrs, smearing threads and shortening saw blade lifespan significantly. Many overseas workshops only focus on saw blade geometry, while ignoring matched spindle speed and feed rate settings, which causes frequent production failures even with high quality cutting tools.

For OD125 160 PVC pipes with wall thickness 6.7 mm 8 mm, Jinzhi Steel recommends stable operating parameters: spindle speed 3000‑4500 rpm and feed speed from 0.8‑1.4 m/min. Excessively slow feed builds up heavy frictional heat; over fast feed brings chipping risk on pipe thread sockets. Auxiliary air‑cooling is strongly advised to keep cutting‑zone temperature under 75℃.

Proper blade storage and pre operation inspection also matter. Thin body circular saw blades shall be stored flat to avoid hidden deformation. End users shall check tooth sharpness regularly, remove plastic gum up on teeth in time. Jinzhi Steel delivers full set processing parameter suggestions for overseas clients from Middle East and Southeast Asia. Visit www.jinzhi‑steel.com to get further technical support.
